Anxiety is your body’s natural response to stress. It is a feeling of fear and apprehension about what is to come. So if it is a natural response why is it a problem? Anxiety becomes a problem when stress is out of proportion to the impact of the event, an inability to set aside a worry, or restlessness.

If you are experiencing anxiety you might be fatigued, restlessness, or sweating. You could be anxious if you are having trouble concentrating, racing or unwanted thoughts. You might be hypervigilant or irritable. You may have feelings of impending doom, insomnia, nausea, palpitations, or trembling.

Some individuals will have panic attacks when they experience anxiety. Other’s may manage their anxiety through obsessive or compulsive behaviors.

Most individuals experience anxiety and stress, however, it becomes problematic when it begins to impact your life. You may begin having trouble at work, home, or with your relationships. If the anxiety feels unmanageable you may begin to feel depressed, and experience symptoms of depression.
