“Just do it!” “Give me!” “Would you!” “Could you!”

What do these statements have in common?

They are not direct ways to get your needs met.

Remember fulfilling your needs is your primary responsibility, not someone else’s.

To get your need met.

Identify it.

If possible meet it for yourself.

Manage your environment.

Take care of you.

If not, put your need into descriptive language…

                “I’m cold”

Then ask directly for what you need.

“Will you hand me my coat?”

Then acknowledge and appreciate yourself or the person that addressed your needs.

“WILL YOU…?” the only two words in the English language for DIRECTLY asking for what you want. Will you be direct today?
